I took a break from blogging. A long one. In short, my knee continued to give me trouble through the spring and I didn’t do a whole lot during that time.
My knee is still not 100%, but I’m finally rebuilding strength and determined to enjoy the summer. Most importantly, I’m feeling like my old self again.
Let me catch you up real quick. Since we last spoke, Tommy and I completed a few projects around house. We painted the kitchen and the guest room and purchased two new couches. Here’s a sneak peek.
I also spent a week at my parents’ house in CT, where I saw knee specialist and visited with my family. I went to the gym with Pop Pop everyday. While he walked on the treadmill, did weights and talked to all of his buddies, I rode the bike and did my PT exercises. I loved every minute of it.
Back at home, I convinced Tommy to plant a vegetable garden (I was not physically able to be of much help). We’ve been growing our own greens, as well as zucchini, cucumbers and tomatoes. So many salads! I don’t have a great shot of our garden and it’s dark and rainy right now, so you’ll have to settle for this picture of the farm where we bought our starter plants.
And finally, last weekend we headed down to the Cape for my sister-in-law’s wedding. Julie was a gorgeous bride and we had so much fun celebrating her and Dmitriy. (I left photos of the bride and groom to the pros since I learned at our wedding that there’s nothing worse than having your pictures held up by a crowd of iPhone wielding guests. But here’s me and my handsome date.)
That brings us to this week. I can’t wait to get back into a normal routine and share my summer adventures with you.
